Don't have a MySpace page? Cringe at the thought of posting your vacation photos on Facebook or Photobucket for the whole world to see? You are not alone. While video-sharing and social networking sites may be the latest craze, they're not for every social network.
This is a great article on social networking and how some of the people either don't understand or don't want to share their content with the whole world. This new service affords one the option of not going high-tech, using a familiar medium (email) and maintaining a level of privacy that email affords (streaming to recipient only)
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 13, 2007 — Web audience measurement firm Hitwise recently released a report stating that just .16 percent of visitors to Google's YouTube actually upload videos, and just .2 percent of visits to Yahoo!'s Flickr are to upload new photos. That's only two people out of every 1,000 visitors. DoshDosh.com has done it again with another thought-provoking and helpful article on how-to increase your website exposure and increase traffic. Called Social proofing, this is quite different from the usual web optimization articles out there. Here's a bit of what he has to say:
Social proof, also known as informational social influence, is a psychological phenomenon that occurs in ambiguous social situations when people are unable to determine the appropriate mode of behavior.
Making the assumption that surrounding people possess more knowledge about the situation, they will deem the behavior of others as appropriate or better informed.

. . . Social blog widgets which display the size and interconnectness of your website within an online community. The three main social blog widgets I know off come from MyBloglog, Blog Catalog and Bumpzee, three blog-based social communities which offer widgets which display the recent readers of any specific blog.

With that said, you'll want to read and print out this post. I certainly have. This guy's site is called doshdosh.com which only goes to show that you can name your site anything if you know what your doing. I love the name; it's unique and I'll bet he didn't have a problem getting it.
Here's some of what he has to say:
del.icio.us is a popular online social bookmarkingwebsite which allows you to create web bookmarks of any websites you come across while surfing the web. You’ll also have the option of sharing these bookmarks with other del.icio.us users, friends and the general public.
One of the most widely used social bookmarking services on the internet, del.icio.us has a very large member base which actively tags and bookmarks a wide variety of websites.
